N.E.R.D.cast #19

What? N.E.R.D.cast? That’s right. It’s back. This is the “on the road” fantasy art episode with more fantasy artists than you can shake a battle axe at, featuring the legendary Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell.

It’s great to get insights from other artists when it comes to the topics of art, progresses and inspirations. I too read heavy metal magazine, which is where I was introduced to Frank Frazetta’s work back in the mid to late 70′s. And I agree with you Jordu, it was his monsters that got me hooked in his work. Let’s not forget the way he works with shadows, darkness and movement. Yes, this was a period for fantasy art that Frank helped get respect to us all that do this type of work. Thank’s Frank! I also want to mention a couple of other artist during this time, which deserve some recognition. They’re Roger Dean and Patrick Woodroffe. These are Artist’s of visions and works of pure imagination that speaks the word, “original” all the way. I’m glad to hear that other artist can include nudity in they’re work without degrading the body or where that fine line is when it comes to the meaning of taste. And just because there’s some skin being shown on a painting doesn’t make it morally wrong. Its great to hear Boris and Julie’s input as well as all you other artists. Thanks to you all and thanks for sharing.

Good to hear the show back on the “air.” Jordu’s discussion of how those damn Hollywood suits dumb down the creature work was eyeopening. Keep ‘em comin!
